Obituary of Frederick G Lewis Sr.

Frederick G. Lewis, Sr. passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Bellingham on 4/24/2022 following a lengthy battle with cancer.  Fred was born on 2/29/1944 to Lawton Gilbert Lewis and Wilma Gregg McCaulley in Cle Elum, Washington.

While growing up, Fred’s father worked on the railroad which led to many relocations during his childhood eventually landing in Bellingham where he graduated from Bellingham High School in 1963.  Following graduation, Fred went to work for the railroad and after leaving that job spent the remainder of his working years in the fishing industry.  Fred enjoyed hunting, archery, playing pool, fishing, riding motorcycles, and exploring pawn shops.  Fred also shared a devout faith in God with his children.  Above all else, Fred enjoyed spending time with his family.  Fred shared the one thing he was most proud of was his children for working hard and being good people.

As the second eldest of six children, Fred is preceded in death by his brothers Larry Lewis and Mike Lewis.  Fred is survived by his younger brothers Dennis Lewis, Lawton “Greg” Lewis, Gary Lewis, and seven children Jeannie Newman, Fred Lewis, Jr., Steven Lewis (Heather), Christopher Lewis (Tanna), Courtney Lewis, Casey Lewis, Stephanie Lewis, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
