Obituary of Joe Velasquez
Joe Velasquez, aged 67, passed away on February 11, 2022, in Ferndale, WA surrounded by loved ones. Joe was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 21, 1954, to Jose and Margaret (Golder) Velasquez. He attended Chief Sealth High School in Seattle, WA. Joe enlisted in the Navy following high school in 1972. While serving he met his first wife with whom he shared three children. Joe owned and operated A Better Transmission in Burlington, WA. He spent 47 years of his life dedicated to working on cars both professionally and personally as a hobby of restoring and showing classic cars. Joe was a beloved father, grandfather, car, and motorcycle enthusiast with a great sense of humor and a generous spirit. Joe is survived by his daughters, Angela Velasquez, and Amanda (Mike) Becker, his 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, as well as his longtime girlfriend Judy Parker and his sister Ann Velasquez. He is preceded in death by his son Joe Velasquez III, his parents, sisters Lorraine and Diana Velasquez, and one brother Mike Velasquez. The family would like to extend a thank you to the Juracich family for all they did for Joe in his final days. The family will hold a small private gathering of family in celebration of Joe's life.
