Obituary of Debbie Silva
Debbie Silva passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24, 2021, at the age of 59. She was the wife of Antonio (Tony) Silva Sr, who shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Whatcom County, she was the daughter of Joaquín Salas and Sarah Fuentes where she excelled in school, loving math and spelling. She was diagnosed with Dementia in 2015. When a Parent develops dementia the roles within the family unit are reversed. The mother you relied on for advice and reassurance is no longer able to give that. You, as the child, have to reassure them through this difficult disease. The sadness in knowing that this disease has no cure and they will gradually deteriorate, therefore losing them more each day, is unimaginable.
She will be remembered for the intense love she showed that knew no bounds, and a home with a revolving door that was always open to any in need; day or night she could whip up something to warm your soul and make you feel validated. With snacks and laughter, she could heal some of the deepest wounds. She is survived by her father Joaquín, husband Tony Sr, and children: Jessica Silva, Christina (Sasan) Bayaniyan, Tony Jr, (Monique) Silva, Olivia Silva as well as eight siblings, 11 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Zack and Mark, son-in-law Jim, father-in-law Ramon Sr, mother Sarah, and loving best friend Debbie Franks. A celebration of life will take place later this summer for friends and family to gather. A special thanks to Jim at Alderwood Park for always taking special care of our Nan ♥️
