Obituary of Opal Hewitt

Opal Irene Hewitt, a lifelong Bellingham resident, passed away on April 23, 2008 in Bellingham. She was born April 11, 1918 in Bellingham to Ethel and Frank Bragg. Opal worked as a seamstress from 1949 until she retired in 1983. She also loved sewing for her kids and grandkids. Her joy in life was to travel to Reno and to Nashville. She loved going to Bingo and taking her grandkids along. Opal leaves behind her daughter Delores (Gene) Den Hartog, grandchildren Vicki (David) Bradford, Tony (Theresa), Rocky (Becky), Bambi, Joe (Mary) Den Hartog, Kelly (Julie) Hatch, Larry (Bev) Hatch, several great and great great-grandchildren, brothers Norman Weatherby of Bellingham, Glenn Weatherby of Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her step-father Bill Weatherby, brother Darrel Bragg, daughter Jackie Stewart, granddaughter Dorcas Hatch, and two great-grandchildren.
