The kind, caring, loving, giving soul of Kip Martin Carpenter age 63 of Ferndale & Blaine, WA passed away peacefully in his sleep on 10/29/2020 after a long battle with cancer. Kip worked for Gai’s bakery as a bread truck driver for many years as well as driving for other companies and selling insurance. Kip’s final job for the last 15 years was at Salmon Bay Sand and Gravel in Seattle as a concrete truck driver. Kip loved helping the community and volunteering to help children beside his wife Julianna at Blue Skies for Children and Ferndale Holiday Giving Store. He never complained he just jumped in to help do whatever was needed. Kip was always there to help anyone who needed it, whether it was Stick Man in Ferndale, a homeless guy at the gas station trying to sell his hat for food as well as being there to help his family and friends whenever they were in need. Kip’s hobbies included reading and learning about health and wellness and playing poker both online and in person. Kip would want you to know how much he loves you all and that you made his life so very happy and full. He loved making people laugh and smile and would want you all to remember him that way. Kip would like to remind everyone to not put off getting a colonoscopy done early and often. Hi cancer was not found until it was already stage 4. He would also like everyone that has cancer or knows someone with cancer to read Joe’s blog at Celebration of the Life of Kip Carpenter Due to covid-19 we will be having a unique celebration of life for Kip. It will be an open house on Saturday November 14, 2020 at Squalicum Boathouse 2600 N Harbor Loop Dr, Bellingham, WA 98225. With covid we are only allowed to have 30 people at a time inside the building so as an open house more people can come to pay their respects. It will not be a “formal” service; it will be people who loved him stopping by having something to eat, telling stories and visiting. Kip’s favorite events were potlucks! He loved them so much we even had a potluck at our wedding and 20th anniversary renewal of vows. Kip has requested that his celebration of life also be a potluck! We would greatly appreciate if people would bring dishes to share with everyone (preferably in disposable containers so there is no stress returning dishes). Kip loved getting to try everyone’s favorite dish. He also said he wished people would bring their recipes so when you find your favorites you can grab the recipe and make them at home too! So with that in mind if you could please print out your recipe with your dish we would greatly appreciate it and so will he as he watches over us. If you don’t have a printer please send them to Julianna through messenger on FB or through email: and she will print them out for you. Kip asked that people tell their favorite stories of him at his celebration of life, but with people coming in and out we are asking people if they can write them down and bring with to put in the basket or send to Julianna, or video tape them or send a voicemail to Julianna so she can share them with everyone. If you would like to do a voicemail story you can leave it on messenger or call Julianna at 360-510-7601 to leave a message. If you are willing to you can also use the microphone to tell stories at the event. Also if you have any pictures of Kip please send those to Julianna as well for the video that will be in a loop at the celebration of life. Remember don’t worry about what time you arrive as it is an open house so more people can attend. We also plan to live stream the event on FB for those that cannot attend.
