Obituary of Alpha M Kindlund

Heaven gained another Angel on June 26, 2020. Alpha Mae Kindlund 86 of Bellingham, WA passed away peacefully after a long battle with strokes, dementia & kidney disease Alpha was survived by her daughter Julianna Kindlund-Carpenter & spouse Kip Carpenter & son Scott Kindlund her grandchildren Rory & Rheagan Gambini Matt & Emma Carr, Kristiana, Mike & Cassinda Carpenter, Maria Polanco, Brianna Lindsey, Chelsey Crediford and many great grandchildren. Sister Goldie Agnew & Brother Les Showers and many nieces, nephews & cousins She was preceded in death by her son Ricky & grandchildren Makyla Mae Carpenter & Jeremiah Crediford. Alpha was born on the prairie in Saskatchewan Canada October 20, 1933. She was oldest of 3 children. Her parents Ralph Showers and Millie Bailey Showers then moved their family to Surrey, BC Canada where she lived until she married Carl Kindlund in 1961 and they settled in Bellingham WA where they had their 2 children. Alpha was a member a Sorority where she won Princess in 1963 and Queen in 1964. Alpha loved to travel first by trailer then motor home to 40 of the 50 states and 3 Providences in Canada. Then by air to Mexico, Hawaii (her very favorite place), she also went on a cruise and had several adventure trips like Parasailing. Alpha owned Bubbles Galore Pools & Spas then worked at Kiels until an injury made her unable to continue working, she was a born salesperson! She loved being home with her dogs, first Flicka her toy poodle, then Simba her Pomeranian and finally Nico her Havanese, who she took everywhere with her. Alpha when she was young was a couple’s dance roller skater and even won some prizes. She loved to dance and entertain having people over often. Alpha loved gardening and had a beautiful garden in front and behind her condo in Sunrise. She spent her summers swimming daily at the pool there and playing in the water with her grandchildren and then great grand children. She loved playing in the pool with them; it was always the highlight of her week. Alpha loved to help others, she volunteered for her sorority wrapping presents each Christmas, then later volunteering for children’s charities Blue Skies for Children and Ferndale Holiday Giving Store. If a family member or friend needed anything she would always be there to help. Alpha had a heart of gold. Alpha was always on the go with her funny sassy personality leading the way. She loved to tease and joke with everyone. Making others laugh & playing with her grand and great grandchildren made her the happiest. Before all the strokes you could always find Alpha at a garage sale! She loved going to garage sales and getting great deals and finding things for other people as well as holding her own garage sales and having fun dickering with all the buyers. She loved playing cards and doing her puzzles. Alpha requested no funeral service, so the family will planting a bio life Lilac tree with her ashes. If you would like to come to her tree planting it will be on July 19th in Custer, please contact Julianna for information.
