Obituary of Sonja Coline Gjendem
Sonja Coline-Gjendem (age 60) lost her battle with lung and heart problem; and what a trooper she was. She entered into rest on February 2, 2019 surrounded by her family at St. Francis in Bellingham, WA. She was born on November 18, 1958 in Amarillo, Texas to John and Mireilly (Gisler) Patrick. She attended Blaine Highschool and worked as a caregiver for Visiting Angels, retiring after 20 years. On June 15, 2007, Sonja married Arne Gjendem in Bellingham, WA. She is survived by her husband, Arne of Ferndale; two sons, Ryan adn Dillon of Kendall, WA; two daughters, Nichole and Brittney of Kendall, WA; brother, Dan of Ferndale; sisters Linda of Ferndale and Suzy of Blaine, WA; six grandchildren. Sonja will be most remembered for her strong faith, and personality. She was very caring of others especially her family. She was all about her grandchildren and children.
From Arne: What a trooper Sonja was.... I often said "Boy I wouldn't want to get in a ring with you". She had a strong faith that helped me through. God she was tough. I will miss her terribly.
