Obituary of Calvin N Vanderpol
Calvin Vanderpol gained his wings Tuesday June 19th, 2018 at 12:30 pm. He had battled Brain cancer since December of last year. Calvin Vanderpol was born and raised in Whatcom County and is from Ferndale, WA. He was proceeded in death by his mother Jane Smits Vanderpol, father Minedirt (Mike) Vanderpol and brother Tony Vanderpol. He leaves behind a large extended family and many lifetime friends. Calvin was known as a hard worker starting out on the family farm and worked up to the day he was diagnosed. Last year he achieved 2 dreams he started his own company, CN Vanderpol Development and took the Panama Canal cruise. He fought with dignity and a big smile something he was known for. He loved working in the dirt as he called what he did and treasured his family and friends. At Calvin’s request there will be no memorial service, and his ashes will be scattered in Skagway, Alaska; on the Dyea highway, a project very dear to his heart.
Calvin spent his last week under the care of Hospice House in Bellingham. I can honestly say it was an incredibly beautiful way to transition. The program and staff are incredible.
