Douglas Charles Richardson, age 71, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2002. Born in Manitoba, Canada where his family farmed in the Clearwater district for many years. At the age of 19, he married Audrey Debenham and later served an apprenticeship with the Canadian Pacific Railroad in Winnipeg. He also became president of the Seven Oaks Game & Fish Association. Eventually arriving in the United States and settling in the Seattle area, Doug, as he was known by all, worked for the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads. He also worked for the State of Washington at the Utilities & Transportation Commission as a train inspector. A railroad man all his life, he never missed a day of work in 42 years. After taking a well-deserved early retirement, he enjoyed his time doing the things he loved most. An avid outdoorsman and craftsman, he loved to work in his shop and could build just about any project. He was married to Audrey for 52 years and had three children, Debra, Murray, and Wes. Doug was also very blessed when his daughter Debra and wonderful son-in-law, Dennis, gave him a beautiful grandchild, Sheena. Doug is truly loved and terribly missed.
