Marjorie Rosemary (Stone) Gillmere was born in Bellingham WA to David Levi and Helen Stone on 9/30/37 and passed away peacefully in Bellingham WA on 10/27/21. Marjie spent her early childhood growing up in the small community of Acme WA. on the Mosquito Lake Rd.with her siblings, sister Velda, brothers Dave,Donald,Wesley and Steve. She attended Mt Baker and Bellingham schools. Marjie married Richard Gillmere in 1958 and together they had five children. Marjie and Dick owned and operated several businesses at different times throughout their many years together while raising their family including, A rest home/assisted living facility in Bellingham,WA and The Idlehour Tavern in Skagit County. Marjie was probably best known for operating The Cascadia Hotel and Restaurant in Skykomish,WA and Pat's Place Restaurant in Everson,WA. Marjie loved her family and worked hard. During those years as a business owner she employed several family members that were in between jobs. After retirement Marjie enjoying singing Karaoke at different Whatcom County establishments,dressing up and going on outings with her Red Hat group, sewing/quilting,crocheting,playing bunco and bingo, but her passion was winning at a good game of cards, either pinnacle,cribbage or hand and foot. Marjie was preceded in death by two of her sons,David and Ronny as well as her husband Richard, brothers Laverne,Wesley,David and Steve. She is survived by her daughter Charmaine Wood,Sons Loren(Tamera) Gillmere and Leslie Gillmere. Grandchildren:Richard Gillmere,Monique Alarcon,Colby(Lindsay)Alarcon,Brooke(Josh)LeMaster,Amber Waring,Chad Hoerntlein,Jake Gillmere,and Evan Gillmere and many great grandchildren. Her two Step daughters Margaret Higbee and Janet Hollingsworth and many step grandchildren, her sister Velda Gile and brother Donald V. and wife Shirley Stone. Marjie's remains plan to be interned at Saxon Cemetery with a graveside service at a later date.
