Lee Ralph Thorsteinson was born on September 29, 1942 in Bellingham, Washington, to Clem Thorsteinson and Eve Hall, and he died on the same day, September 29, 2021. He was 79. Lee was a lifelong resident of Bellingham, graduating from Bellingham High in 1960. He was employed for some 50 years combined with Bellingham Public Schools and Georgia Pacific having established many relationships in those years. Lee is survived by his daughter, Leigh (Thorsteinson) Zahn, of Sammamish, Washington, his son Brett Thorsteinson, of Long Beach, California, their spouses Bob Zahn and Simona Thorsteinson, and grandchildren Noah Zahn, Payton Zahn, Tyler Thorsteinson, and Siena Thorsteinson. He is also survived by a daughter Taylar Thorsteinson, and his sister Joy (Thorsteinson) Spradlin and her husband Carl. Lee (the original Thor) was a proud Icelander who enjoyed his many family visits and celebrations in Point Roberts, Washington throughout his lifetime, where the Thorsteinson’s had originally settled. He spent a lifetime perfecting the art of conversation with friends and acquaintances alike. He also enjoyed his Mariners, Huskies and Seahawks, keeping up on the local scene, reading the latest mystery novel and following the exploits of his grandchildren on a daily basis.
